Section 01

What Aveka is and is not

Aveka is a technology infrastructure platform that facilitates student financing workflows between universities, students, and regulated financial institutions. Understanding what this means in practice is essential for anyone assessing our regulatory status.

Aveka is
  • A technology and software platform provider
  • A financing workflow facilitator connecting students, universities, and lenders
  • A KYC infrastructure provider using regulated third-party verification partners
  • An AI-powered tools provider for lender matching and mock interview preparation
  • A DED-registered commercial entity operating under UAE commercial law
  • A data processor operating under applicable data protection frameworks
Aveka is not
  • A lender, bank, or non-banking financial company (NBFC)
  • A licensed financial adviser or credit broker
  • A regulated payment institution or payment service provider
  • A credit reference or credit bureau agency
  • An insurance provider or financial guarantor
  • Regulated by any financial services authority as a financial institution

Important: Aveka does not issue, approve, or underwrite any loan or financial product. All financing is provided by regulated financial institution partners under their own licensing and regulatory obligations. Aveka has no authority to approve or reject any financing application.


Section 02

Partner lenders and their regulatory status

All lenders operating through the Aveka platform are independently regulated financial institutions. Each lender holds its own licence and regulatory approvals in the jurisdiction(s) in which it operates. Aveka does not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for any lender's regulatory compliance.

Partner lenders include regulated banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and specialised education lenders across the following categories:

Scheduled commercial banks and RBI-registered NBFCs including SBI, ICICI, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, Avanse, InCred, Auxilo, and others
International
Multi-jurisdiction
Prodigy Finance (UK FCA regulated), MPOWER Financing (US CFPB regulated), and other internationally licensed lenders
Africa
Local regulators
Partner lenders regulated by the relevant central bank or financial services authority in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and other markets
LATAM
Local regulators
Partner lenders regulated by applicable national financial authorities in Latin American markets served by the platform

A current list of specific active lender partners, including their regulatory registration details, is available upon written request from institutional users (universities) at compliance@aveka.ai. Students may request information about the specific lender their application has been matched to from their university.


Section 03

KYC and verification partners

Identity verification (KYC) on the Aveka platform is performed in partnership with regulated, third-party identity verification and document authentication providers. These providers hold their own regulatory approvals for KYC and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance in the jurisdictions in which they operate.

Aveka itself does not issue KYC approvals or make definitive identity determinations. The platform collects student consent, transmits data securely to authorised KYC partners, and presents the resulting verification report to the relevant university and lender. All final determinations are made by the KYC provider or the lender.

Section 04

Governing law and jurisdiction

Aveka's terms of service and platform agreements are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, specifically those of the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute arising under these terms that cannot be resolved through the Aveka grievance process is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dubai, UAE.

This governing law applies to the technology platform agreement between Aveka and its institutional users (universities and lenders). Individual loan agreements between students and lenders are governed by the law specified in those lenders' own terms, which may differ by jurisdiction.

Section 05

Where to direct complaints

Because Aveka is a facilitator not a lender the right place to direct a complaint depends on what it concerns. Use the routing guide below:

Platform experience, data, KYC, or AI concerns
Contact Aveka directly via the Grievance Redressal page. Includes: data access requests, AI output disputes, KYC errors, consent questions. Response within 7 days.

Loan approval, terms, interest rate, or repayment disputes
Contact the lender directly Aveka has no authority over financing decisions or loan terms. The lender's name and contact details will be in your loan sanction letter.

Regulatory complaint about a lender
Contact the relevant financial regulator in the lender's jurisdiction e.g. RBI (India), FCA (UK), CBN (Nigeria), CBK (Kenya). Aveka cannot intervene in regulatory matters between students and lenders.

Data protection complaint (unresolved by Aveka)
Escalate to the relevant Data Protection Authority in your country e.g. India's MeitY, UK ICO, Nigeria NDPC, South Africa Information Regulator, Kenya OPC.
