This notice is written for you

Our full Privacy Policy covers everything in legal detail. This page gives you the same information in straightforward language no jargon, no legalese.

Question 01

Who is Aveka, and what do they actually do?

Aveka is a technology platform that helps universities support their international students with financing. Think of Aveka as the infrastructure layer sitting between you (the student), your university, and the banks or lenders that provide education loans.

Aveka is not a bank and does not lend money. Aveka does not approve or reject your loan application that decision is made entirely by the lender (e.g. HDFC Credila, Prodigy Finance, Tata Capital, etc.). What Aveka does is make it easier for your university to manage the application process and for lenders to receive structured, verified information about you.

Aveka is operated by Markingo Portal LLC, a company registered with the Department of Economic Development, Dubai, UAE (License No. 1308533). The platform is branded as Aveka. Both names refer to the same organisation.

Question 02

How does Aveka get my data did I give it to you?

Your data typically reaches Aveka in one of three ways, and in each case you either provide it directly or your university does so on your behalf as part of managing your enrolment:

How your data enters the Aveka platform
You directly
Forms, document uploads, mock interview sessions
Your university
Enrolment data, fee invoices, admission status
KYC partners
Verified identity and document checks (with your consent)
Aveka platform
Secure, encrypted, purpose-limited processing

If your university submitted your information to Aveka on your behalf as part of your financing application process, your university is responsible for ensuring they had a lawful basis to do so (typically this will be covered in your enrolment agreement or a data sharing notice from your university). If you are unsure, ask your university's international student support office.

Before your data is submitted to any KYC verification provider or lender, Aveka or your university will ask for your explicit consent. You will not be matched with a lender without agreeing to this.

Question 03

Who can see my data?

Only parties who need your information to deliver a specific service related to your financing or verification can access your data. Here is a breakdown:

Who Why they see it Basis
Your university
To manage your application, track loan status, and support your enrolment process
Partner lenders (banks / NBFCs)
To assess your eligibility and process your loan application
KYC verification providers
To verify your identity, documents, and academic credentials
Aveka platform staff
To manage the platform, resolve issues, and ensure compliance
Technical infrastructure providers
Hosting, security, and communication services under strict data contracts
We will never share your data with:
Advertisers or marketing companies
Any lender who has not been matched to your profile and authorised by you
Employers, government agencies, or third parties outside the financing ecosystem without your explicit permission
Anyone who pays to access student data we do not sell data

Question 04

Is my loan from Aveka? Will I repay Aveka?

No. Aveka does not provide loans and you will never repay Aveka. Your loan if approved comes from a regulated financial institution (a bank or NBFC), and you will repay that institution directly according to the terms they set.

Aveka's role is to help your university manage the application workflow and connect you to the right lenders efficiently. Once a lender approves your application, the relationship for the loan is between you and that lender. Aveka may continue to track disbursement status on behalf of your university, but this is an operational monitoring function, not a financial one.

If you receive a repayment demand, collection notice, or any financial communication claiming to be from Aveka, please treat this with caution and contact us immediately at tech@aveka.ai to verify its authenticity.

Question 05

Are there real people interviewing me in mock interviews?

No. Mock interview sessions on the Aveka platform are conducted entirely by artificial intelligence. There is no human interviewer listening to or reviewing your session in real time.

The AI generates questions, listens to your responses, evaluates them, and produces a written feedback report. You will be shown a clear disclosure prompt before every session begins you need to acknowledge this before the session starts.

Your mock interview feedback is shared with you and, where your university has enabled it, with your university's student support team for coaching purposes. It is never shared with lenders, visa authorities, or used in any financial or admission decision.

AI interview assessments have limitations they cannot fully assess cultural context, nerves, or non-verbal communication. Use this as practice and supplementary feedback, not as a definitive judgement of your abilities.

Question 06

What is KYC and why do you need my documents?

KYC stands for "Know Your Customer." It is a regulated process that lenders and institutions are legally required to complete before processing any financial application. It involves verifying that you are who you say you are, that your documents are genuine, and that there are no regulatory or fraud concerns with your application.

Aveka uses KYC providers to run checks across four areas: personal identity (government ID, biometrics), academic credentials (transcripts, degree authenticity), professional history (where required by the lender), and financial documents (bank statements, sponsorship letters).

Your consent is required before any document is submitted to a KYC provider. You will be asked to confirm this at the point of submitting your application. The KYC report produced is used by your university and the matched lender as part of their due diligence it is not a public record.

You can request a copy of your KYC report by emailing tech@aveka.ai. If you believe a verification result is incorrect, you have the right to contest it see the next section.

Question 07

What are your rights over your data?

Depending on your country of residence, you have legal rights over how your personal data is used. Aveka supports these rights across all the markets it operates in, including India (DPDP), South Africa (POPIA), Nigeria (NDPR), Kenya (DPA), and the EU/UK (GDPR).

Question 08

How long do you keep my data?

We keep your data for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for typically the duration of your financing application and any active loan relationship plus any period required by law for record retention (which can be up to 7 years in some financial regulations).

If your application was unsuccessful or withdrawn and there is no legal requirement to retain records, you may request deletion at any time by emailing tech@aveka.ai.

Mock interview session data (responses and feedback) is retained for 12 months from the date of the session, after which it is permanently deleted unless you have requested earlier deletion.

Question 09

How do you keep my data safe?

Aveka uses encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls so that only relevant team members can access specific data, secure multi-tenant infrastructure with data isolation between institutions, and periodic security reviews.

If a data breach occurs that may affect your personal information, Aveka will notify you and the relevant regulatory authority within the timeframes required by applicable law.

To report a security concern, contact: tech@aveka.ai.
